The Airfix paint colours

Post by M16Sky »

As I mentioned earlier, I've been sorting through my Airfix paint stash. I bought a box of the old paints in the bottles around 1980 when my local newsagent was selling off her stock of toys. Some of these were missing labels, but I think I've sorted out what's what, amounting to thirteen of the matt colours and three of the gloss. My first question is, does anyone know when later colours were added to the range? I've got a repro of a small Airfix catalogue from 1968, and it only lists eight matt and nine gloss colours, no matt White or gloss Copper; by 1974, there were twenty-seven matts and eighteen glosses, and M18 varnish had turned into M18 Light Brunswick Green.

Here's the list of (presumably) the final range of Airfix paint before they were discontinued.
