New WW1 types from Airfix
After a teaser on their Facebook page Airfix launched a 'blog spot' on their forum where they also announced two WW1 aeroplanes for release next January.
A BE2c and a Fokker Eindecker EII/III;

Release of these two might herald release of new mouldings of some other WW1 types over the next few years.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Re: New WW1 types from Airfix
Indeed a surprise. We can realistically hope for more new types as the 100th Anniversary moves on. I'm hoping for a Snipe in 2018.

Re: New WW1 types from Airfix
Good news ! The BE isn't a "main stream" kit, so that is even better. The Fokker is iconic and can't not be done.

A Hanriot HD1 would be good ( but unlikely! )

Re: New WW1 types from Airfix
Excellent and surprising news. The BE will be very welcome. I'm partial to the old Revell Eindekker but the new kit will be better no doubt. I see from the sprue shots that they've put rigging holes and attach points on the Fokker, not on the BE though. The Fokker would be a good project for the first-time rigger; the BE not so much!

I saw that and thought they might be retooling the RE8 but I'll settle for the BE2c

Re: New WW1 types from Airfix
I'm please with these two new issues. I have a BE2 but its a vac kit. The Fokker EI/II/III available is the old Revell one.
I'd be happy if Airfix just retool the old favourites, like the RE8 and DR1, even if they don't give us new tools of new subjects. Both would be even nicer tho.

This is good news. Obviously a Dogfight Double boxing is likely too.

They look like they will be nice.
Eduard do a modern mouling Eindekker - which is a lot better than the ancient Revell one.

Re: New WW1 types from Airfix
Certainly having these two. I wonder what other little gems are coming our way? Good old Airfix.

This article covers Lt Willian Leefe Robinson VC. Here is a picture of a serviette used in his commemoration dinner. Not many of these around, I bet.
I may get a little vignette together with the Airfix kit of his plane and use a copy of this historic article as a base.

So many models, so little time.

Ayup All...
Just goes to show you never can tell with Airfix can you ?
I wonder if they can replicate the 'see-through' look of the wing.

Mould the wings in clear plastic. That might work.

They should stop messing around and release a 1/24 Camel. They could seriously clean up with that.
