I saw the Zero sprues the other day. Assuming the shapes are near correct, it looks outstanding. The P-40 has virtually unanimous approval. I think you can buy with confidence.

Nice boxart. Almost reminicent of Roy Cross's classic box artworks. I think these kits are great for encouraging young modellers. I certainly enjoyed them growing up.

£18 seems a bit steep for 2 £6 kits. I assume they're throwing in the larger Dogfight Double stand, (rrp £6), as opposed to the smaller one (rrp £3).
I think that cutting costs by only including one decal option may also be off-putting, especially as Airfix has two different options already available.

Having received, £18 would buy you the two kits and DD stand, plus glue, two brushes and some small pots of acrylics.

I got the P-40 yesterday in the post. Very nice. AVG markings. There are build threads going on just about everywhere.

I'm in the Pearl Harbour GB with this set following todays bit of good fortune. I'll try to make a review of it. To start with, I have to say that if these kits build anywhere near as well as they look on the sprues then I'm in for a treat.

I think I may even use the paints in the set.

I'm not sure I'd go that far.... :ha:

After all the posts of the Box art builds at Telford this weekend I can't help but think what a cool project it would be for someone (JAMES) to build this box top... :ha: :ha:

At the moment I'm stuck with brush painting while I wait for my new compressor. I've always found Humbrols acrylics to be pretty good on the old hairy stick, particularly if you thin them down with a little screen wash and build the colour up gradually. It's either that or pop into Cardiff and pick up some appropriate enamels from one of the model shops.

Not sure about using Humbrol 90 for Japanese Navy Grey though! :???:
