Re: Toby's table top turmoil
Trying to gauge WW1 colours is let's face it a bit of a lottery. I've looked at quite a few sites and overall colours range from what looks like a light sand to a light grey to a light olive green which seems close to the colour on the box picture so I've plumped for the latter.

Excellent, the Zero turned out very nicely Toby.
WWI colours are actually relatively easy to suss. If you check out photos they are all in black, white and/or various shades of grey. Not a problem really

Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Nicely done. Those old Revell WWI aircraft are actually quite decent kits.

I'm fairly impressed with it more so than some more exalted other brands such as Roden.ShaunW wrote:Nicely done. Those old Revell WWI aircraft are actually quite decent kits.
Decals now on and I've tried to give the cowling a mottled effect by adding darkened steel in little squiggles with a tooth pick.

Liking this one a lot. Great job on the cowling.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Re: Toby's table top turmoil
That's great Toby and a good effort replicating the milled appearance of the cowling, no mean feat in 1/72nd scale.

Most of the rigging now done. I only used two strands for the front and rear rigging by going round and round the same fixing points. Took about ten minutes!!

Great job Toby and it sounds like the design made rigging quite easy for once
