Those look really nice as a collection, I'm particularly impressed with the gloss finishes you've achieved; that Grumman Panther(?) looks superb.

Thanks, guys and gal.
Much appreciated!

Yeah it's a Grumman Panther, Mike. I believe it was done with good ol' Humbrol enamels and finished with one or two Humbrol gloss varnish coates.

Dirk:
Of the liners I wasn't very pleased with Mauretania, but happy with the Titanic (quite a fight!). I see the threading has fallen a bit and one mast is bent now. I haven't touched any of them for years. I know now the paint should be matt. The blitz from the camera makes it a lot more shiny than it is, though.
My Revell 1/400 Titanic will be better. :-)

That is a top collection of models you have there Prisca. Of particular interest to me are the P51's, Panther, F86 and F100F, all of which look really great. As you can see from my signature bar, I have an F100D, which has patiently been waiting to be finished since about 2000!

Thanks, Shaun!

Since 2000?! I didn't know that was possible. But hey, I'm very impatient so that's just ehm... me..
You should get it out and continue on it. It's a great aircraft. I built the Italeri one. The Hasegawa must be better, no?

It's an old Hasegawa and I think has some accuracy issues, but hey it looks like an F100 to me! I started it way back then and did a load of mods, extra detail to the cockpit, dropping the leading edge slats etc etc and then stopped for reasons I can't now remember. I will try and finish it before the next 12 years run out!

Wow, I didn't realize that your collection was that large. I remember the F-86 though. It still looks very pretty with its red/white/blue trim. Also, the black Spitfire is very striking.

Lovely collection! The variation in subjects and scale makes it very interesting, and I particularly like the old air and sea liners, and the Swiss Tiger! :)

Cheers,

Asoka

Thanks.
These are about two thirds of what I've built. The black Spitfire is actually one of the models I'm most pleased with. Thank you!

Asoka,
After I had finished the Tiger I swore to myself never build a tiger again. I almost had a nervous breakdown :-D when applying the decals, in horror of misplacing or messing up. Phew, turned out allright. They are fun to build though!

Yesterday I spent hours figuring out the paint needed for my next models, I'm focusing on the Vallejo range for now. Thank heavens for conversion charts. You'd almost go nuts when there are so many similar colors and you need to find the right one.
When the paint arrives, should take about a week. I will join the Blitzbau. Look forward to that.

Started fiddling through my decal collection. I went through one bunk with lots of goodies. Then found an even bigger one in my spares box.
My plan of not buying, but building till I have a smaller stash, has failed BIG TIME. But, in my defense, I've only bought kits and decals with a Norwegian theme. And some are not too easy to find, I'm just afraid I wont get hold of them later, ehem. So I buy them now. Typical me. ;-)

Soo... Here's a lil' pic of the bench when it was still tidy and I had barely started the rummage.

Very nice collection of beautifully built models Sissel!!
It surely is a good thing you got back into modelling, couldn't let your talent and skills be wasted ;-) !

I'm curious to see yor next build, is it going to be the P51 sitting on your workbench?

A warm welcome back to model building :-D !

Cheers,
Eugenio

Thanks Eugenio.
The P51 is part of the Reno Racer set, which I started just before I quit. Fuselage and cockpit done on both the P51 and T6.

My next finished model will most likely be La-7 from Hobby Craft, 1/48. That's my Blitzbau hope :)

Yeah, I really miss modelling, hard to believe I was gone for so many years. They really flew by!
But to be honest; if it wasn't for my dad and a friend of his' ongoing interest, I would never have gotten back.

I would venture to say that this is typically most (all?) of us!

Did a little shopping today while having fun at a festival. Four stores got me some tools and stuff.
Clamps, brushes, cutting mat, hobby knives, scalpell, sponges, palette.

It tingels now. :omg

The bug has properly bitten again, hasn't it Sissel?
I'm glad, because you produce some inspirational work.

You’ve got some great build there! Many fine build of aircraft from the RNAF, and some very fine ships!!! :)
Also a nice Vampire! (they are so fun to see in action, the noise from those jet engines are very special! ).
I have a Roden Gloster Gladiator (1/48) in my stash , that will be build in Norwegian colors, but I’m NOT going to start on it before I finish rigging my Albatros…. By the way, I have built a Gladiator in Norwegian colors a long time ago, it was a airfix 1/72 and full rigged… when I came home from the military on leave, I discovered that my kid brother and sister had been playing with it…….

Yep, it sure has, Ian. Thanks for that.

Thanks, Ivan!
The Vampire, being in 1/72 is a lot smaller than I remember. I just had a look at it. Haven't heard them in real life, but wouldn't mind at all.
I have the Roden Gloster Gladiator as well, I've heard good things about the kit, so lets hope it is.
A shame with your 1/72 Gladiator... I guess that sorta thing is almost expected to happen with younger siblings.

On the bench now I still have the Reno Racers :-D
They are going a bit slow. The red paint I had ordered had too much orange in it (Vallejo Scarlet). To make sure I just ordered several reds now. Tested out liquid mask for the canopy. What a fiddling job to get it right. The result will show after I peel off. Very excited to see how it turns out. As I'm again awaiting paint they're put on hold.
I've started the Torpedo Boat and Destroyer from 1/400 Airfix Kriegsmarine set. However, It's NEVER a good idea to build two boats like this next to eachother. It's very easy to mix the sprues and tiny bits and pieces put aside for glue herding. :ha:
I should have marked them somehow for which kit they belong too  But I will figure it out.
Anyway, I got good use for the wood glue filling the gaps between the hull and deck. Put some on a toothpick and just smooth along. Nice and easy.

Normally I would have had a pic or two, but I completely forgot... getting old yeah..

Time for me bed now. Night folks.

Sissel
