Douglas Boston III, Revell (Original tool)

Post by bluesteel »

Just completed OOB the original tool Douglas A-20C Havoc as an RAF Boston III

A straight forward build made slightly more tricky by the fact that no rear canopy
was included but there was an extra front canopy. So I trimmed it down to sort
out a makeshift rear canopy. Also despite stuffing every conceivable space forward
of the CofG full of lead weight it was still a tail sitter. Therefore I used the thoughtfully
supplied tail stand. The decals weren't too bad for a very old kit, but no Squadron
markings were supplied, just roundels and tail flashes. Therefore it's a Boston as
delivered to Speke airfield near Liverpool before being marked and delivered to it's Squadron...

A good model is any model you can walk away from.

Nice one Blue.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Very sharp.
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto
