Don't know if the bombs were appropriate for this particular version, but I liked 'em :)
One of the wires on the port side has gone slack, and a couple of the others got glue on and didn't behave properly, but she looks good on the shelf, and I'm happy with it

That's a good job and I do like the markings on it.

That's a very tidy job. How did you do your wood effect on the panelling?

Really nice Nigel, especially considering how magnified those images are. Might look out for that boxing, just for the decals.

I was going to ask about the wood effect too, please share your technique!

Clearly the old kit builds into a fine little model!

Nice. Please can you tell me how you did the wood effect on the prop? I am looking for this effect to finish my Fokker Dr1.

A little stunner. Really love that wood grain.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Perhaps I'll save the macro pics for the good bits

The wood effect was from a post I'd seen somewhere on this forum. First I paint the area in a light coloured acrylic. Tamiya XF 57 Buff in this case. Then brush on some oil paint, either a dark or light colour depending on what finish you're after. Don't be too careful brushing on the oil, any streaks will hopefully look like wood grain. When that has dried, it's oil, so takes a while, apply a coat of Tamiya X 26 Clear Orange.
Give it a go, you'll be surprised how easy it is. You could experiment with different base colours and oil paints, even the final clear coat to give different finishes.
Of course you could also use wood effect decals :)
Again, Thanks for the positive vibes.
