Silent partners

Post by Migrant »

These 1/72 SG-38 Gliders came two-in-a-box from Kovozávody Prostejov. There are several different boxings depicting different versions, but all the box contents are the same, meaning you can build any variant from any boxing (with the right decals). I did one as the basic pre-war German training aircraft and the other as a Polish glider with the enclosed cockpit. They're really simple kits to put together, only 9 or 10 parts per model. Rigged with Uschi van der Rosten thread, turnbuckles from Bob's Buckles.

Note my gravity-defying seat belts. Image

Excellent!

The shading of the wing ribs is beautiful Mike! The undersides really look like they are being illuminated by the sun shining through.

Please tell the green mottling on the second one is a decal and not hand painted. Please!

Very nice, the camouflaged Polish version looks quite esoteric but makes for a good looking sailor :).

Very delicate looking. Do they really glide?
It'd be tempting to try.

Hard to believe they're only 1/72. Beautiful work.

Stunning work as always Mike. The colour scheme of the Polish example looks rather eye boggling, I think I would have got a headache trying to paint that!

Wonderful, I saw one of these fly at Shuttleworth, it looked absolutely terrifying to fly- the commentator, himself an experienced pilot, said that nothing on earth would get him on one of these.

Not much I can add, Mike - the structure and fabric effect is just stunning.

Now that you have mastered the basics, can you get the upper camo to show through under
