F4K Phantom, 1/72, Fujimi
F4K Phantom, 1/72, Fujimi
F4K Phantom, 767 Squadron, Royal Navy
Hi everyone,
This was a nice little kit, quite well detailed with a few display options. It all went together ok with a little filler being used here and there. The only real fit problem I had was the 2 side pieces for the rear cockpit. I couldn’t figure out how they went in but after while I got it sorted. The model was brush painted with Humbrol enamels and varnishes apart from the white bits which were done with a Halfords rattle can. There are several decal options and I went for an aircraft of 767 squadron. Although I couldn’t find any pictures of these aircraft carrying all the missiles I added them anyway along with 2 wing tanks.
I’m satisfied with the build and love the look of the RN Phantoms. Hope you like the photos…
Thanks for looking
Stu

Very nice work. Those Fujimi F-4's are sweet.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

That's a treat for the eyes. Lovely paint job especially as it was done with brushes. I love that squadron's big yellow fin marking.

Brilliant work Stu.
That brings back fond memories, not the kit but the real thing, I spent time on 767 squadron back in the early 70's and would have worked on that bird.

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

The best thing, is to keep on building. Clap your hands, stamp your feet, wiggle your fingers…

That's a great looking model and I love the fact that you achieved it using simple techniques

The pictures are just so cool. The model is fantastic, It remind me of when I went to Yeovilton with my dad in 1969 and saw a Phantom for real for the first time.
