Revell 1/72 P-26A 'Peashooter'

Post by 59North »

This build was entirely inspired by a recent like build, right here on UAMF. Once I saw that neat little P-26 so nicely done up in the 'Tween the wars' group build, I thought I'd like to have one as well. So, I went at it over the holiday season.
I've decided to make this build blog:

A slight improvement on the kit interior ;) Looks fantastic.

(The Revell P-26 is the first kit I remember my Dad building, I must have been 5 or 6.)

It's a lovely little kit to build, the original decals can be a little interesting to apply if you're going with them and will benefit from a lot of setting solution
Best wishes

Its surprising what a difference a few aftermarket parts can make to a kit.I look forward to your build.

Great start!
Since the wheels are now painted, you may want to cut away a section of each wheel so that it can be offered up into the assembled wheel spats after major painting. Of course the wheels will not be able to rotate.

cheers,

I wondered about that! I'm toying with the idea of careful masking and trying to paint the boxtop scheme. That might be just shooting myself in the foot, though.

Thought about that, too. Just going to have to depend on masking, as the spats are now together.

Will you be using a peashooter if you do?

It looks to me as though this is going yo be a real cracker when complete. Great to see some of these old timers being given the attention they deserve.

Yep, I was talking about yours. I thought your P-26 was beautiful, and it completely inspired me to get a start on mine.
Don't play me up to much here, though. I'm making serious mistakes as I go along.

Great work with this so far 59. I like your very pro looking captioned photos, which really serve to clarify what you are doing 8-)
