Yakovlev Yak 9 - ICM 1/72

From the box, only the canopy has a little extra-work.

Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Very nice little build, I like the weathering effect, is that "salt effect" weathering? ;-)

Yes Nax, "Salt Weathering", my first time. :)

You made that kit look really nice. I love those russian model aircraft. I've built about three of the little I-53 bipes, would like to build more of those little jems, also a couple of the I-16's to go with them.

Generally a very nice build!

But I'm not sure exactly what the light spatter on the rear (fabric covered) fuselage is supposed to portray. Mud throw-up from the (clean…) wheels? Or what?

Kind regards,

Joachim

I hope Joachim can understand my English.

The light spatter you see on the rear fuselage, is not mud.
It's an attempt to give the effect of heavy weathered paint, like in this picture:

Great looking model. I am not familiar with the markings though? Lyell

Love you little Yak, Giulio! 8-)

Can really appreciate it as I am fighting with a horrible Airfix Yak-9 right now! :-D

Cheers,
