Grumman F-14A Tomcat, Hasegawa, 1/72

Post by Stupot »

Grumman F-14A Tomcat
“Jolly Rogers” VF-84, US Navy

This is the “low visibility” boxing of the Hasegawa F-14. To apply the colour scheme I used a Halfords rattle can for the white bits (undercarriage, missiles etc) while the rest of the model was brush painted with Humbrol enamels. Decals are from the Kit.

Nice build, I wouldn't have picked it as hand painted if you didn't say it

Very nice, but shouldn't the missiles also be in low vis LGG and not white?

Beautifully finished, and as others have said, you wouldn't know it was brush painted by looking at it, Top job. ;-)

Thanks Softscience, I'm not sure. They were painted as per the kit instructions.

If I am correct, that's the old kit, the one with raised panel lines:

That is a fantastic piece of brush painting. So good in fact, it looks airbrushed! Great result.

Well don't let my comment make you think that you didn't achieve anything short of a beautiful finish on this bird. It is quite lovely no matter the color of the long shooty tube thingers :)
