I still don't understand the why.
Who says that such a weapon wasn't fitted by an innovative T-34 crew?

theres also the fact that this is supposed to be a very early T34..........at that point in the game it was probably more important for ground troops to use heavy MG than mount them on tanks and Dshka would have been in short supply.....also Soviet warfare methodology was different.......tanks were supposed to be cheap and replaceable (i nearly said considered disposable but you know what i mean)

And not just the "normal" early T34/76 made it to Berlin.

Hi,
I think your T34 kit looks great, this kit was the first matchbox AFV kit i bought in the 1970's,i still have a couple in my stash and think i will dig them out and build them after seeing yours,i also like the gun on the top too, though i don't recall ever seeing any photo's of one fitted and hadn't paid any attention to this fact until i saw this thread.
I was looking at an osprey book about the T34 tank in waterstones bookshop, and there was a few pictures in it depicting the T34 tank 76 and 85 versions shown with the AA gun mounted on top,i can't remember the title of the osprey book or the war zone theatre shown but the guns were fitted,so some must have had them then at some point.

I have one of these and know next to nothing about afvs. Painting the dio to look something like has stopped me making a start so far.
