A completed diorama from the "Market Garden" era, some para's are being assaulted by a Tiger and some panzergrenadiers and have decided to hold their posistion and try and call in some support.

The Tiger was a Hasegawa late era Tiger 1, the paras were airfix 1/72 and the german panziergrenadiers were from revell in 1/72. The scenics were all from Javis, including the water.

A partial build thread is here http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1066&start=45

Nice diorama!

One blooper, though – since the Germans are obviously attacking, judging from the attitudes of the soldiers, I don't think that the tank crew would be standing up in plain sight without any hint of elementary self preservation… ;-)

I was of the belief german tank commanders were encouragd to keep their heads out of the turret as much as posible to maintain situational awarness, they only dropped inside if being attacked by armour, aircraft or the small arms fire was too accurate. The British Army does the same to this day,

It all depends on how accurate the para's rifle fire is, not sure if I could be accurate if Isaw a bloody big tiger rollng towads me!

But as it is I am not always one for always preserving the historical element ! :ha:

Regards

Justin

Just call it Invasion of the Peak District, and it's good to go! It's a good dry stone wall , looks authentic :)

Cheers

Andrew

PS The hut in my diorama isn't authentic either

Nice idea. It might be the colour on the photos but the Paras appear to be in the wrong uniform and beret colours.

The wall better suits a Normandy diorama though I'm not sure if the Tigers were used against them.

Its the colour in the photos and I was a bit excessive with the washes! Made everything very dark and grubby!
