We three carriers of universal are ** Finished **

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

Here we are, state of play a couple weeks ago ....

And here we are Christmas morning ....

And here it is .... Everyone loves the Universal Carrier !!! What is neat is that all the paints call-outs are Vallejo, which I've started using. I think I have most these colors, even.

And here's one of the three identical sprues with the instructions. Simple enough. Note that I can do either a Mk.1 or Mk.2, for a little variety.

The only thing the kit does not provide is decals, but guess who has a decent collection of 76th scale formation signs & stuff ? Sound like we are all set.

This will be fun, I get to learn how to use my Vallejo paints, to learn a bit of detailing and highlighting, and I even get 3 chances to get it right.
I probably will not start until the weekend as we have family in.

Thank you very much Santa !!

Can't wait to see how this one goes. Have looked at a few of their kits in the store but wasn't sure how detailed they are.

Neat. I have built a box of these for work (we stock these) and they go together great. instructions are a little vague for some of the small parts if I remember right but a trawl on google images set me up.

All the best.

Well, I tracked back to a post by Piers B who did this kit and some nifty figures. I'm afraid I won't be airbrushing to his standard !

I left this post, I'll double it up here ...
Having just received the universal carrier kit from my Secret Santa, I went off looking for other items -- like the AB Figures only to find the website gone, neither abfigures.co.uk no ab-figures.co.uk seem to exist any more. I found a couple sites (incl Eureka) selling AB Figures but not much selection ....

Have they gone under or am I doing something wrong ?

Hi John,

AB figures are no more, but Eureka will be manufacturing their full range (eventually!) I believe they've started with German and US troops - UK figures are in the works, but no idea as to when... :???:

Thanks, Adrian, I found Eureka (USA) but their line of British figures was tiny .... Not an obstacle, just another idea to fill my stash ...

Yes, other than the obligatory craters in the figures, fortunately in their backs, it is very well detailed and molded.
