Construction almost complete:

I am going to be away from the desk for a few days so annoyingly there is a good chance that this will end up in the DNF pile. Darn it.

Looking at the size of the rotors in your photo it would have never flown :-D :-D :-D

Its a shame I was enjoying this build. Don't forget to post some images when you get a chance to finish it.

As you know Alan with enough power anything will fly, catapult, whatever. Especially Helicopters. :ha:

Sorry this won't be done on time. It is looking very nice.

Look forward to seeing it finished whenever that is. Certainly not your normal run of the mill helicopter one sees these days.

Just got back from an emotional visit to the Somme Battlefields, and have managed to devote some time to my models.

The Alligator has had two coats of Black primer:

And yes, I have done the rotor blades which are still attached to the sprues for ease of painting.

After a manic few hours I have managed to get this as completed as it can be. Unfortunately when I removed the masking tape from the windshield there was quite a bit of sticky residue on it (due to the hot weather I think). I attempted to remove it with a cotton bud dipped in white spirit but it seems to have melted the windshield:

I cannot understand why as I have used white spirit in the paste with no problems.

I will try to get hold of a replacement piece but may have to vacform one myself. With this in mind I decided not to put the side doors on as I want to have them in the open position.

A couple of coats of Klear have improved the windshield slightly, so here is the finished Alligator, I will take some better pictures in daylight.
