And the decals are done.
I haven't bothered with the flags or the tiny numbers for the missile launchers.

Re: Andrew's East German Missile Boat
Thanks chaps. Not bad for a first go at PE and my first warship build for forty years!
I put some matt varnish on this afternoon. The props and shafts just seemed like a big chore, so I took the easy task
Never put off today what you can also put off tomorrow.

It's a great looking model Andrew. Got any more ships in the pipeline?

I have the Elizabethan Ark Royal and a Type 42 destroyer in the stash. I haven't got them on the imminent build list though.Dazzled wrote:It's a great looking model Andrew. Got any more ships in the pipeline?

Re: Andrew's East German Missile Boat
It's very tempting not to do the weathering stage, just in case I mess it up!

Well it's looking very good as it is, so I would say don't if you don't want too.AndrewR wrote:It's very tempting not to do the weathering stage, just in case I mess it up!
Which Type 42 do you have in the Stash?

HMS Manchester, a Batch 3 (the lengthened version). It's the Skywave 1/700 kit. I also have the WEM photoetch set for it.Sir T wrote:Well it's looking very good as it is, so I would say don't if you don't want too.AndrewR wrote:It's very tempting not to do the weathering stage, just in case I mess it up!

Well you learn something new everyday as I didn't know there was a lengthened version of the type 42 - I've love to build HMSAndrewR wrote:HMS Manchester, a Batch 3 (the lengthened version). Re: Andrew's East German Missile Boat
As I understand it, the Batch 3 had the original design length. The Batch 1 and 2 ships were shortened to make them cheaper. They were also more cramped and poorer sea-boats as a result.
