Sign-up and Chat

Here's the usual rules -- your GB Leader, Jssel, will fill in any blanks.

Any time from Saturday, January 31st through Sunday, March 1st - local time.

Any subject, any scale, any kit -- unstarted, no exceptions.

Built in a 24-hour period (not 24 building hours). The only alternative, AKA the "wuss" or "senior-citizen" option, is to break the build into TWO approximately equal sessions on consecutive days and the gap between sessions shouldn't be much more than 12 hours.

Photos to be taken with a visible clock, at reasonable intervals throughout the build to document progress -- one hour is typical but may be a bit much -- but do remember the more frequent the posting, the better the interaction and that's what a Blitzbau is all about.

A gallery photo should be posted of the "state of play" at the end of 24 hours, which should also be posted WITHIN 24 hours of "finishing".

Extra non-credit is given for uniqueness of the clock, the on-plate presentation of the meals to be consumed, spousal interruptions (eruptions?), and other things like great music videos etc. All the while remembering this is a family friendly forum ...

Who will be the most un-prepared, missing even the simplest of modeling tool or supply, this time ? How far into the build will they be before the light comes on ? Who will set the record for most models completed ? Will they ever model again ? Don't miss a single thrilling minute !!!

As always, Have Fun !!!

Welcome one and all the the Premiere UAMF event. Let's have some fun. Heard mention of the Blitz House appearing again. We need 8 to play so sign up early even if you have not decided on the entry. Blitz house is counted as at least 3 so should be easy.

My only caution is that this is a family forum. Pushing of the envelope is permissible but please remember that.

I'll definitely be in for this one. With what, I'm not sure, but it's likely going to be a Spitfire!

Shocking, I know! :ha:

I have applied for planning permission to take some time out for this so should be onboard with something as yet to be decided!
It won't be a spitfire!
Best wishes

Def interested, but gonna have to try it in a 12 hour blitz due to shifts, should be fun. Thinking of a Sherman Firefly V.

Sign me up with the Airfix Spit I in 1/72. Found the gift set version in a charity shop at some point ...

Sorry I don't think I will have time to join the Blitz this time, but I will be popping in to give support.

Good Luck as always.

As a neutral observer of this Blitzbau I can only marvel at lancfan's proposed building schedule in this and the other GBs going on. I am in awe.

I promised you all Revells PT167 a year ago and failed to even start it. I guess I'd better build it this year!
I am off work from 6th to 16th Feb, so that is my build window. Will need to negotiate with Mrs. Ian over the exact date.
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

Not sure which one I'll start with, but I plan on doing one, two, or all three of these as part of the Blitzbau this month.

Pretty sure this one will be the one I start with. The small size, single color, and lack of propellers makes it seem like a good 'blitz subject. However, I've been burned by 1/144 scale planes in the past when trying to finish in 24 hours, so you never know.
Image

This one seems straight-forward enough, my biggest concern would be getting bogged down with seam filling and fit issues.
Image

The painting would be the obvious challenge on this one, but it has a small part count, relatively no flash and a good fit based on some reviews I've seen, so if the build went quick enough, it might leave enough time for a decent paint job on a simpler scheme.
