Sign-up and Chat

Modelling any subject from a "lesser represented" country; which is not a value judgment. Kits may be any scale or subject but you must sign-up and have your country and subject approved. You may build any number of models or countries, but there may be only one modeler per country !!!
GB runs 4 Apr - 3 May; your host is fredk.

This is a GB to acknowledge the small or lesser represented countries - extra kudos for the more obscure they are.

The main five [UK, USA, Germany, Soviet Union but allowing pre & post CCCP Russia), & Japan] are excluded as they are usually well covered by us in models.
One model to represent a smaller country, perhaps two if they changed markings during their history, eg Finland - Blue swastika to 1944, blue/white circles -1944 to now.
Any model subject as long as it can be clearly seen to be of that lesser represented country.

Only one modeller and one model per country - a modeller can do as many countries he/she chooses but no-one else may do that same country then. As there are around 160 counties and only a few of us there are plenty to go around. The idea is to do as many of these lesser known countries as we can.

This GB started from a (9-page!!) thread here.

The GB runs from April 4th to May 3rd; your GBL is fredk who will fill in any other info.

As of this posting, 21st April, here is the sign-up list:

Thanks John

I hope to PM everybody on the list over the next few days. Just to let you know everything is underway.
This is going to be predominately airplanes/aeroplanes, but any subject is welcome; tanks, ships, even figures.
Conversions are ok, but no What-iffs.

I fancied a second subject that I saw in an old modelling mag that turned up in a tidy up. It's a radial engined Hawker Hart in Estonian colours, but unfortunately I'm in the same boat as Feargal Sharkey when it comes to sourcing the basic kit! :ha:

What do you need, a simple Hawker Hart kit to modify, or a Hart kit with radial engine already ?
John Ratzenberger :???:
It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

I think I'll just stick with the Kiwi Corsair John, another look at the magazine revealed that the radial Hart was Swedish and if I did get a Hart I'd probably make it as a 602 Sqn. kite.
I have a bunch of figures that will be getting most of my attention in the immediate future so I'll just have the one entry in this GB.

Good morning!
From what I see, will gather in one place a large group of famous aircraft in rare colors. I believe that it will be something to admire :)

Would a Polish PZL P.11C and Rumanian PZL P.24 be allowed? I have a couple Azur kits waiting to come out of the hangar. :)
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Or how about the new Eduard Avia B-534 in 1/72 scale? I was thinking of the B-534 Series 1 in Czech markings and the series 4 in either Czech or Hungarian markings. But with four airframes and over 20 marking options in the kit, I'm certain I can at least make three of those in appropriate markings.

The 11c is fine but Przemek is doing Poland. Rumania is still available.

Czech[oslovakia or Republic] and Hungary are both available.

Hi Chuck!
Thanks for the memory of this beautiful Polish fighter!
I'm pleased to see PZL P.11c in your performance :) I am ashamed to admit it, but the one I have begun ... and still waiting to be completed.
I like the GB, cause forcing me to the end of the model that I started.
Slowly preparing to alterations in my RWD, so you start with PZL - will nice couple.
Regards!
