Marky's Corsair *** FULL-TIME!!***
Re: Marky's Corsair
I've no 'Add image' function as others have found, but I have repainted the black area on the nose, Honduran Corsairs had these despite it being more known on NMF or silver machines. I have found pics online of the one I am to model, it has black inverted 'L's on the wings, also in black. These are done. Need to make two extra aerials and find '609' in white to complete the markings.
I've also completed basic construction (all but the u/c), on the F4U-1A, which will be El Salvador a/c. Annoyingly this is in white plastic, which I don't really like, the Honduran one is in dark blue, both Revell. The -1A also has a multi-part front end which only just fit together while the -5 is one piece (each fuselage side is one).

Going through PB for now. This first pic is the -1A Corsair, meant for the El Salvador F4. The second is the Honduran F4U-5, which, since this pic was taken has had blue stars on the wing tip markings and black inverted 'L's on the inner wings. Undercarriage has gone on today. The El Salvador one has also been painted light grey and masked for the yellow wing tips and tail.

Re: Marky's Corsair
I'm calling the Honduran Corsair finished, she looks good enough to me!.
F4U-5, Honduran Air Force, July 1969 flown by Major Fernando Soto Enrique, who claimed three kills over El Salvador Corsairs during the 'Soccer War' of July 1969.
I have also been working on the other team, so to speak. This is where we are so far with the El Salvadorian Corsair, this one based on the Revell F4U-1A. Only the canopy (which will have a yellow frame!!), and the painting of the aerials/antennae's to do before she is also done. I have added the canopy and aerials after taking this pic!.

Thanks chaps, appreciate the comments!. The FAS Corsair is all but done now, just one or two details and she's ready. The El Salvador one is a scheme I've wanted to do for ages but never got around to so thanks to Lancfan (correct me if I'm wrong) for suggesting the GB.

Here is the other half of the match-up. Not sure if they flew combat missions in this colour scheme, I have seen a serious camo job that I'm not attempting!!. I always wanted to model this colour scheme so accurate or not for the Football War here she is...
And the teams at the kick off...

Thanks everyone. Really enjoyed doing something different, not that I have anything against US Navy blue ones!!. Really glad also that I did the El Salvador one.
(Oh and BOTH props go around. Of course if you blow too hard on the FAS one the prop flies off on it's own!!).
