If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Looks good... Are you going to sort the seam line on the upper cowl while your sorting the rough patches in the NMF??

I want to get the aluminium sorted first, then I can fix the seam and spray the black anti-dazzle panel on the cowling.

After priming and one coat of aluminium, things are much better:

Here we are with the anti-dazzle panel painted. I used black with a drop of Dark Sea Grey in it.

The port rudder is still looking a bit iffy, unfortunately

I wasn't expecting to have any bench time over the weekend, but I dod manage to fix the rudder paintwork.Image

I also managed to have coffee and a chat yesterday with David Womby, who was visting Ottawa. It's nice to actually meet other forum members in real life!

Stormy weather here today. A good excuse to put the decals on.

Image

I used a few of the Airfix stencils, mostly on the propeller. The Ventura decals needed very hot water to prevent splitting. There are one or two places where some cosmetic work might be needed.

Image

It's too gloomy to photograph in natural light this morning. :omg

The drop tanks need another metallic coat, and a couple of stencils adding.

And the wheels go on.

Image

The canopy isn't glued yet, the main undercarriage doors need to go on, and the aerial needs painting. I had to replace the kit part with stretched sprue, as it broke whilst I was cutting it from the sprue.

Looks absolutely fabulous! It is a cracking little kit ain't it? 8-)

And to you go the extra 'resolving unidentified paint issues with the least amount of fuss' points for this GB!
Best wishes
