This is a long shot, but I'll try. I didn't realize it had the option to do it as HMS Kipling, an armament variation and a chance to do a non-standard disruptive scheme.

Precisely, in fact I did think about mixing up a light Mountbatten Pink for it .....

What do you mean by "an armament variation"?

Iggie has it right, the aft torpedo mount was replaced by 4in AA gun. There were also changes to the smaller AA, the depth charge gear, and radar added. Wikipedia doesn't mention this on the Kipling page, but the issue appears to be that several changes were made in the J-K-N classes in 1940-41, but losses were heavy, and survivors may have changed back or again from 1942 ...

Started - more tomorrow, when I hope to start the other two.

First, here is HMS Kipling, 1942 - slightly non-standard.



And here is progress to date - the hull & deck are together and major deck structures are being prepped.



The kit showed gluing deck and bottom plate into one hull side then gluing the other side. I had problems even test fitting so I glued the two hull sides at bow and stern, then when dry I fit the deck on and glued it from underneath, then finally glued on the bottom plate. This is a waterline model, BTW.

Right now I am just working sub-assemblies while I figure out my paint sequence. I am using WEM but they don't have some of those colors so I think I'll just wing it.

Just fussing around with more parts prep. Not sure I understand what a few of the locator holes in the deck are for and whether I should just fill them now and redrill later if I need to.
