They'd need to change the pod then - the T.11 had wider sills.

The radar gave the NF.10 a very different shape, making both canopies may just be a first step towards a new family of Vampires, the wings were common to fighter, night fighter and trainer and all Airfix need do to produce different versions would be to offer the three different pods and booms with all three types of fin/rudder- and new wingtips for the mark one.

I believe the basic pod was the same , it was how the cockpit opening was created that was different .

KIWI wrote:Merlin Kit list .
The first two kits produced by Merlin Models had no numbers marked on their boxes but were :
Halberstadt D.11
Supermarine Swift FR5
No 3 Kawasaki Ki32 Mary
No 4 Albatros W.4
No 5 Supermarine Scimitar ( I believe this was an unauthorised copy of the Frog kit of the Supermarine N113)
....
. Please feel free to add or suggest any amendments and or corrections to this list .
Is the Supermarine Swift FR5 an unauthorised copy of the Hawk/Testors kit?

I do not think so , but I have not actually done a comparison as I only have the Testors kit and have never seen the Merlin one to touch .

To the list of 'unnumbered' Merlin Kits, should be added the Nieuport 27.

Good catch, thank you.

I have since run the list of Merlin kits against Burns PAK-20; amendments and notes are in blue.
