This is a great idea. I think building two kits at the same time is best.

I have always fancied doing a SAAF Mirage F1 v Mig-23 dogfight double. With background story.
Obviously depending when it happens I would be in. Six weeks should be enough.

There sure is a lot of combos that come to mind. I am thinking along the line of doing a traditional Airfix D.D. And with the newer offerings, there is a good crop to choose from.

The Blitz has wuss out clause. This one could have one too [three, four.....ahem]
Up to 6 weeks, max.
Those who can, build two, or more, in that time.
Wuss out clause; those who cant/dont want to/unable to build two in that time can build one to match an already built kit.
All pairs to be presented in D/D arrangement.

I have the Revell 1/144 kits I want do as D/D, but they are sooooo poorly moulded, I could build four newer 1/72 kits quicker, and within the 4 or 6 weeks.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Nice idea Fred. I can see the wuss out clause could be very useful ;-)

I started a D.D. a long while back as a GB on another forum. The premise was to pick a German ace from the Bloody April period and build his aircraft and that of an aircraft he brought down. I lawyered up on the wording and found that I could "legally" build the aircraft of an German ace (an Alb.DIII) and the aircraft (Strutter) of an Allied ace that shot him down. Never finished it, but I had a lot of fun (and spent a lot of money) doing the research to dig all that up. Still got the parts here somewhere.

I might be interested in this one as I do on occasion think about possible DD pairings. I like the 6-8 weeks option to finish both but might be able to do them together.

But, do we limit it to aircraft only?

I have pictured a X-Wing vs TIE fighter combo or even Viper vs Cylon Raider.

It's probably a go, I think it just got overtaken by events.

My calender's looking pretty full for next year but I'm happy if you want to take it up Fred.

Cheers

If you're ok with that I don't mind taking it over. Be a pity to drop such an interesting GB.
I'll start a new thread in a couple of days time. A new thread so I can edit the info as it progresses.
