What Might have Been GB *** Complete & Archived ***

Post by Spaceowl »

Looking to do this in the last quarter of 2018. 'Rules' such as they are:

Rather than a what-if, this is a 'might have been' group build - the subject must have some basis in historical fact, i.e.

*A type that was due to enter service and cancelled (RAF TSR-2, RAAF Mirage F-1, Marineflieger Buccaneer, RCAF Avro Arrow)

*An unsuccessful competitor in a fly off (A-9 instead of A-10, XF-32 instead of XF-35)

*An unsuccessful bidder in a request for tenders (Indian Air Force F-16I or Typhoons instead of Rafale)

Please answer the poll below.

I thought about it, and the last quarter, and added a Yes vote. I'll be in the Armistice Day GB but should be able to work around it.

BTW, I counted positive posts and someone clicked Yes but did not post.

We seem to have enough for this one - can we schedule for after Telford?

I have just spotted this but although I am really interested in this GB I'm busy enough this year so have voted "No" and I will be an interested lurker instead.

Am I right in assuming this has to be a type that was actually built? For example: the TSR2, Mirage F1, CF-105 etc are in because they were built but the Hawker P.1121, XF-108 Rapier or Boeing 2707 are out because they were only drawings or mockups.

Thanks

I'll step in - but yes, David, no paper projects.

There was a lengthier initial discussion thread ( http://www.uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?p=342511#p342511; ) where some of these questions were thrashed out.
