I have an Academy one some place I plan on doing as a Russian aircraft and also a Russian IM one that is from an unidentified manufacturer that I plan to build so I'd be up for this but later in the year perhaps?.

All the best.

The Monogram kit is one of Monograms best. I have built up two of them and have two more in the stash. No vices. My only complaint is packing in all the nose weight and still leave the panels off. I'd do another in Russian markings if this goes.

Tempting. I have the Hasegawa 1/48 Airacobra in RAF markings in my stash and it looks quite nice. Also I can't remember the last time I built a 1/48th kit, it must be over a decade.

I'd like to do this one - I've always had a soft spot for the under-appreciated P-39 and if I do it I would probably do another Soviet lend-lease bird.

Will, as ever, depend on timing and other commitments...

Certainly plenty of options and I have a Revell GB kit somewhere.

I have one of the Frog test shots. I heard that it may have been released as a Frog Spawn kit but have never seen one as such. In doing some surfing I came across this and also this. Maybe one of our East European friends can give us some background? Some of the other box arts look interesting!

There is also the Hobby Boss 1/72 kit, for those looking for a quick build.

I've got 1/72 Academy and Airfix P-39S and an Eduard P-400 in 1/48.

That answers a question for me. It's a test shot from the Frog kit that I have got my grubby little paws on. Now. should I build or should it be a collectors piece, I think we all know the answer to that one don't we? :-D
OR. should I bung it on evilbay as an uber rare collectors piece and fleece - I mean - do a deal with a collector  MwahahahahaHAHAHAHA

All the best.

I think the old Revell 1/72 scale kit was re-issued in air racer marking also.

I would definitely be in for this as I love P-39s and - just like Gregers - have a couple of Frogspawn P-39s kicking around + a load of goodies to go with them, one's in fetching baby sick tan, the other mint choc chip green... lovely! Roll on Frog F415...

Also got a P-63 lurking of unknown providence, I think it could be the MPM kit repackaged - either way it falls under the category of 'horrible'.

Count me in...

I'm in - if I've seen it I gotta build it...

Interestingly, I've never done a P-39 before. Haven't actually got one but will probably get an Airfix or maybe even the Eduard in my preferred 1/48th scale. I'll have a look out at Cosford next weekend.

Cheers

I'd be in for this. Academy kit probably. Either the RCAF's one Airacobra or a Soviet bird flying the Northwest Staging Route through Canada.

Al, that's actually a P-63 Kingcobra, a P-39 on steroids. I think this was the machine that was destroyed at Biggin Hill in 2001, also taking the life of former Reds jock, Guy Bancroft-Wilson, after it departed from controlled flight during a low level loop.

I would be up for this one. Having read this book:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Star-Airaco ... 1874622787
I will have to do Mariinskiy's plane.

I don't have a kit yet but I am sure I can find what I need. Better start doing some research me thinks.
