Re: VV's VVacform KLM Fokker F.III *Finished*
In summary - kit parts were: fuselage, wings, rudder. Everything else was either scratchbuilt or spares from Roden kits (Gotha G.V, D.VII, Albatros)
Very nice kit to build. It's my second vac (though never really finished the first) and it went together very smoothly. Much impressed.
Decals were from Rob Hamann of http://www.hollandaircraft.nl/; and they went on like a dream. Rob is a champion and very helpful.
I wish now I had opened up the doors so I could use my Preiser figurines for an airport diorama. Oh well....

Very pretty. What is the white two seater in the far corner? Or the black and yellow sportster for that matter?

In return, I have to say I'm a bit of a fan of the Stinson :D
Interwar is my bag, so this Fokker fits right in.

A splendid and most colourful model. The wood finish for the wings is most convincing.

Re: VV's VVacform KLM Fokker F.III *Finished*
Thanks for the compliments gents, especially from the forum vacform guru
I tried to stay subtle on the wing wood effect and I feel like I've been reasonably succesful there. I would have also liked to add some panel/ply division lines but it would have just been way too much work.
I hope to be able to get some decent shots tonight. It's more involved than just grabbing the camera and snapping off pics so it has been hard to find an opportunity.

Thanks Rob. The decals worked out great and your build review was an invaluable resource!
Finally managed to take some slightly better pictures.

Re: VV's VVacform KLM Fokker F.III *Finished*
Great result.
I built the earlier Fokker II about two years ago so it's especially interesting for me to compare the differences between them. I think the ailerons on both aircraft were fabric covered rather than varnished wood, but I don't know how that would have affected their colour. Whatever, the F.III is definitely a far more attractive looking machine.

Re: VV's VVacform KLM Fokker F.III *Finished*
Do you have a picture of your F.II build? I'd love to see it.
This picture certainly indicates some kind of difference between the wings and ailerons, though whether that is fabric or just a darker ply is hard to tell.

Either way, I'm going to leave mine as it is but thanks for that info.
