Tim's Heinkel 'Blitz'

Post by TimJ »

I'll be building the Revell repop of the Matchbox Heinkel He 70G-1 'Blitz'. An obvious choice really as it has my name on the wing.

Here are the preliminary shots.

This one's a bit late out of the hangar but I finally made a start today. First up was the cockpit interior, not many seats, no antimacassars (What's the German for antimacassars?) and a rather poor photo.

The wings went together ok after the wheel wells were painted. Fit of the various nose panels wasn't too bad but may need a bit of filler.

Image

After fitting the windows the fuselage was closed up and the wings added. The fit of the wing isn't too bad on top but leaves something to be desired underneath. :frown:

I hope I can get all the filling and sanding done without any of the windows falling into the fuselage.

Schoner - clearly, it looses something in the translation...

As I recall, seam filling and sanding was a bit of a headache on this kit due to the contours, especially around the wing roots. Good luck with that one.
