Anyone fancy a bomber build?

Anyone fancy a bomber build?
So, after boring Tom Watts at SMW with my build priority for 2017 being Bomber Command machines (plus a couple of CC types thrown in), does anyone fancy a GB cunningly themed to let me take part with a BC machine?
This could be a straight, "anything operated by BC during it's existence" theme, or a more generic, "Build a bomber" theme. If the latter, we'd have to have some limiting criteria, and I'd suggest something like, "would have to be designed / conceived primarily to have carried bombs", so no jabos or army cooperation types or, indeed, torpedo bombers. So, anything from a Gotha to a B-2, including things like an F-15E for instance. Whether we include bombers operating in other roles is up for discussion.
What do you think of either suggestion?
Regards
Martin

Re: Anyone fancy a bomber build?
I should clarify that the "anything operated by BC" theme is not intended to be limited to just aircraft. Land, sea, air or whatever, if it was operated by BC at any point, it's eligible.

I might have a bomber or two stashed away - definitely got a Dambuster Lanc, anyway.

Open it to include modern bombers of any nationality and I'll be in

So you would prefer the "generic bomber" theme, I guess. Of the 2 ideas, we'll see which one is more popular. Of course, we could do both . . .

Well the generic theme obviously does include both CC and BC

Re: Anyone fancy a bomber build?
I have an Airfix Buccaneer in the 'To Do' pile. Would that qualify?
It might give me the incentive to build it.

I can't see any reason for the Brick to be disqualified.

I have a few bombers to choose from so count me in for this GB
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: Anyone fancy a bomber build?
Just to be clear on the options, BC operated from 1936-1968.
The Buccaneer (post above) didn't serve with the RAF until 1969, according to Wikipedia.

Re: Anyone fancy a bomber build?
So are we restricting this to strictly BC? I don't mind either way and that would give a clear time period.

Yes, let's build something big!. I'd go for Bomber Command myself but will go with the final decision.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: Anyone fancy a bomber build?
Kind of depends on the response I get. Both suggestions I made in the original post are possibilities. It would be good to know which one respondees would choose from the two. However, I don't think we have 8 expressions of interest yet for the two combined, so it's moot at present.Old_Tonto wrote:So are we restricting this to strictly BC?
