Many thanks, David. At the moment I'm just planning to get a model built of the basic aircraft without weapons as I don't mind admitting that I've had enough of this build for the time being! The kit provides a decent selection of munitions and once I've had a break I'll look at fitting her out but I need time out from the build. I'd like to do a bit of classic small scale Matchbox armour building over the Christmas holidays, provided I get this finished up beforehand.dwomby wrote:Nearly there, Shaun, and looking good. Do you plan a full load on her?

Re: Revell 1/48th Eurofighter
That looks really good!
For some reason, at least to me anyway, it looks better than the Revell 1/72 equivalent; the shape seems better in some way..... Probably just my eyesight!

Well despite all of your struggles - It looks blooming awesome Shaun. I don't really blame you for not wanting to arm it.
Looking forward to seeing your armour builds - I've almost finished my 1st 1/35 build myself.

Re: Revell 1/48th Eurofighter
Many thanks, chaps. I'm itching to get this at least finished to the point where I can display it on here and then worry about a weapons fit later on. I don't want to plough on with the build, in effect making myself do it, until I feel ready to. There's been a bit of a further delay though as we've had tradesmen in replacing the gutters and soffits all round the house since Monday so I've been making tea and answering queries! They've just about finished now so I'm hoping to catch some bench time before the weekend.

Re: Revell 1/48th Eurofighter
At long last I am calling this one done for the purposes of the GB. I've taken some four months to build this, my how the time flies
The kit has fought me all the way, some of that was down to me being a bit incompetent some of it down to good old fashioned poor fit. Final struggle of the build centred around fitting the canopy which was a saga in itself and I've not made a very good job of matching the paint. In future, certainly with larger scale builds such as this, I will mask and paint the canopy at the same time as the main airframe. I might revisit this build at some point to fit some weapons but at the moment I'm Eurofighter'd out!!
Anyway, here we have it:
Eurofighter Typhoon F.2, ZJ918, No. 3 Squadron, RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, 2005.
Many thanks for following this saga!

Many thanks, Chris. I'm now aeroplaned out and it's time to move over to my other main area of interest - military vehicles. You and Alan (Splash) have been inspiring me lately to pick up a tank kit from the stash and built it!!

Great build Shaun, and I still maintain it looks better shape-wise at 1/48 than the 1/72 version; don't ask me why, it just does!
You have done well to overcome the 'issues' the kit has, and turned out a really neat looking Tiffie
