Calling Box Art Diorama Builders!!!

What makes a British kit a Classic? What Classic kit is really British? What is the SIG all about and what goes on...from initial musings, to full on campaigning. It'll all be here, interspersed with talk of Texan Bars, Alias Smith & Jones and The Flashing Blade, Footy Cards and Bath Night, before School.

Calling Box Art Diorama Builders!!!

Post by mattbacon »

Hi, all... Mat Irvine's been in touch, to say he's writing a book (a Haynes Manual) on building dioramas, and would like to include some of the CBK SIG Box Art dioramas among the illustrations. Mat says he has plenty of photos he took at Telford, but would like to credit them and maybe ask some questions about them. I can remember some, but it would really help if people who'd built them could add them below and I'll transfer to a master list. If you're happy to have your work included, can you also give your real name as well as Forum name, for potential photo credits... I'll start:

1. Airfix Mirage and Mig-15 "Dogfight Double" (Matt Bacon)
2. Revell (UK) B-26 Marauder "Flak Bait" over the D-Day beaches (Matt Bacon)
3. Airfix BN Islander (Paul Bradley)
4. Airfix Bristol Blenheim (Paul Bradley)

Now, over to you lot. If you know anyone who is no longer of this parish, but know what they did and their real names, please add as well...

best,
M.

How cool! These were fun projects, and I'm glad someone else enjoyed them!

Did you point him to the Group Build threads here at UAMF?

4. Airfix Bristol Blenheim (Paul Bradley)

It'd be awesome if any of our builds make it to a Haynes manual - something that everyone involved in the Box Art Displays should be proud of.

Cool !

Another source of innovative dioramas might be our Compact Disc/Diorama GB from 2016: https://uamf.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=336;.
