It’s that time again, just later

Hurricane season leaves us with a mixed bag of weather, but nothing like what you are experiencing on a regular basis.

Seasons certainly have changed, with none of the severe winters we knew 40+ years back. We are very lucky in many respects.

"We" are fine, other than people who do not understand, wave action in these circumstances.

But there is an awful lot of long wave action on both sides of this beast than will impact folks up in New England, Canada, Nova Scotia, etc, that they may not be used to, and I'm not even sure hown much long wave action is at the head, and on both sides. This thing is bigger than it looks in that regard. Can't wait until next week.

The bad part is that most of our Ocean Rescue crew went back to school, so we have a very small crew spread along 10 miles

High school (14-18) & college (18-23), mostly on the younger side.

Our daughter is in Halifax, NS. They're preparing for Lee's arrival. Hopefully not as bad as Hurricane Fiona, this time last year.

Our daughter and family are there too. Fingers crossed. It's been a hard 12 months for NS - Fiona, fires, floods and now Lee.

Stay safe, John. You really do get some extreme weather. We are getting some backwash from various storms. Pretty rough winds, but luckily, little damage. Just up the coast, at South Shields, North Sea waves were bursting against the breakwaters and over the stone lighthouse, which has lost its dome and light. The spray must have been 100ft high. This is the worst I've seen it. Going up to Durham today was a whirlwind of rain and leaves in certain places. Lots of rain, rivers bursting banks and standing water on a lot of roads.
