Two Ships In Bottles Made By My Father

Post by Caz59 »

hi all just thought I would share these pictures of ships in bottles that were made by my late father Gerald Preece who was a member of IPMS for many years. Both the models and the tweezers were scratch built.

When I asked how him how he got the ships in the bottles his reply was............I waited for a full moon night at low tide and sailed them in backwards.

Fiddly work. Your dad must have been very patient.

My brother built one years ago ( in a camp coffee bottle ) I remember how fiddly he found it so I appreciate your dad’s skill in making these.

Great workmanship by your dad. Ships in bottles never fail to impress me!

Always nice to see something different.
Especially if you can't do it.
I wish, that I knew what was doing!
