First To Fight 1/72 Kfz 13
Another little German Adler, this time armed and armoured. These were used early in WW2 but not for that long in front line roles - I guess they were pretty vulnerable to anything larger than small arms.
Like all the F2F kits I've tried this is cleanly moulded with reasonable detail, but in a soft plastic which does not work well with my normal plastic glue (Revell). Superglue seems to be the answer. Luckily fit is good so that is no great problem. The interior is minimal and there are no crew provided - these ones were converted from the spares box to fill it out. I did thin down the gun shield edges and replace headlights, wing mirror and width indicators. Not a great kit but it's not bad.
The base is one I made years ago, now tarted up in it's third incarnation as a farm track - let's pretend it is in Poland this time. The peasants about to lose their apples are from one of the Caesar sets, and the handcart is a Hauler resin kit.
Apologies for the photo quality - I was trying a more neutral background than the usual stark white and it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped.

Nice diorama and an interesting subject that no one really knows about.
It's only pain, work through it.

Nice work. Great story also
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Great work as always from you, Ben, the Kfz turned out very well indeed and that is a great little diorama. The background is certainly better than that to my photos, which often includes a fair bit of the workbench detritus. One of these days I'll work on a better set up but photography has never been one of my strong suits.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thanks very much all for the nice comments! Shame about the crappy photography - back to white backgrounds in future I think. (Either that or I'll actually have to learn to use a camera properly )
Now the base has been perked up a bit it will certainly get reused. Believe it or not it started out as a desert base originally.

These vignettes of yours are brilliant. It inspires me to bite the bullet and try something like it.

It took me years to actually buy some diorama accessories and they really make it so much easier. Totally recommend some tiny plants and grass tufts as a starting point if you can get hold of them. I still need to get some of that static grass stuff recommended to me by Iggie.VickersVandal wrote: ↑February 18th, 2024, 7:41 am It inspires me to bite the bullet and try something like it.

Funny little thing, and I don’t think many brands make this. I thought for the longest time S-Model was the only one. Good work, and I like the fact the figures look expressive.

Very nicely done! The background looks ok to me, my pictures are usually taken on the kitchen worktop whether its meal times or not.

Very nicely done little scene that - I do like the base and the figures.

Re: First To Fight 1/72 Kfz 13
Thanks for that everyone! I was not at all happy with the photos so got some better ones done today as the sun is out - some of the time at least. These photos show the colours much better and I seem to be able to focus the camera properly again...
