Looking very good Andrew - it'll be worth all the hard work.
Stuart Templeton I may not be good but I'm slow...

Nice one Andrew, I think the Airfix one will go together a tad eaasier - although I do remember lining everything up to put the fuselage together was a bit of a pain!

This one I´m watching, your patience will pay off for sure!
Was thinking about getting the Brengun kit....but now I´ll keep to my Aviation Usk and Frog one....(already got too many rather difficult kits to build in me stash)

Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Airfix version is a late model one (4 blade prop, Tempest tail, bubble canopy). If you want an early one, then Brengun is the best option.
Anyhow, we are now onto a bit of painting. The Sky Type S tailband has been painted and masked, and the MSG undersides painted. I'm leaving the invasion stripes and yellow leading edges until later.

Hello!
It always seemed to me that the rear transparent part of the dome of the Typhoon from Brengan was too long. Maybe I'm wrong? Good luck completing the project!

If you mean the "Car Door" canopy, then I agree, it looks too long to me.

Thats good progress despite the model fighting back. There is a little part of me that would like to build the Hawker range of piston engined monoplanes - but I shall resist.

Thanks Tony. I am very pleased to be on the painting stage, which I enjoy much more than the filling and sanding part.

Ready for Dark Green. Masking with silly putty as usual. I bought new stuff for this build, and the eggs of putty have got smaller, and there's much less stuff in them now. I think this is known as "shrinkflation".

Re: Henry Talalla's Hawker Typhoon - July 1944
I managed to get the green camouflage colour on last night.
Only a couple of paint touch-ups needed this morning!
Now for the tricky masking for the underwing invasion stripes and yellow leading edges! This is progressing reasonably quickly now. I am tempted to use the rockets from the Airfix Typhoon, as they are moulded in one piece. The Brengun ones have separate tails, and I loath trying to glue them on straight!

Nicely done, Andrew. Masking up for invasions stripes can be a bit of a bind but I always prefer to do that than use invasion stripe decals that, in my experience, never seem to fit properly. Can't say I blame you for wanting to use one-piece rockets, I wouldn't fancy the patience test of trying to align separate tail fin assemblies in 1/72nd either!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Underwing stripes painted. I've got the pattern slightly wrong, but you won't see it anyway.
White and Nato Black used. Much better than decals. A minor overspray on one wing.
