Re: Miguelito's Phantom
Thanks to Nigel, Splash, OT, and Shaun for the compliments. Even with the kit problems, and the self-induced ones, I'm still enjoying this little kit.

Not very big going by the bottle of Tamiya cement it's sitting on. Makes the work all the more impressive.

Re: Miguelito's Phantom
Well done for such a small kit. I love these 1/144 scale kits. So much you can do with them if you want too.

Re: Miguelito's Phantom
I was able to get a darker green onto the Phantom and replace the light grey...
...I think it looks better.
I was also able to get the decals on...
...in typical Academy fashion, the decals aren't very good. They're out of register, don't settle in well, and the placement instructions are very limited. Still, I'm going to stay "positive" and continue having fun with it.
While applying a wash on the underside, I discovered (the hard way) that I hadn't applied a proper gloss coat, and some of the paint came off while I was wiping off the wash. Unfortunately, I'll need to redo the underside; however, work has taken me out of town, so it'll have to wait until the weekend.

Re: Miguelito's Phantom
Looking good now, slightly bum Academy decals aside. If there is one issue, I think you have the shark's mouth too far back and have maybe painted the nose cone too far along the fuselage towards the cockpit. The nose cone on the F-4E is relatively short although the nose is longer than the non-gun armed versions (when I was building my Airfix version of the E late last year/early this year I must have stared at a million F-4E pics!). Tell me to mind my own business if you like
