Toby's Heller MD 450 Ouragan. "FINISHED"
I won't be starting this until late October but always good to check out what's what beforehand.
Decals are definitely going to be replaced with some new ones.

Re: Toby's Heller MD 450 Ouragan
Fuselage closed up. I almost forgot to put some weight in the nose but seeing how far back the wings are I might not need much.
It really is quite a purposeful looking brute. Well done Marcel Dassault
Wings on. I use Leukosilk to hold things together after someone recommended it here. It grabs well and has very little stretch in it
A little filler is required but generally like the other Heller models I've made the parts fit well.

A coat of black before the aluminium goes on. I think it looks rather good in black.

The green for the wing tanks is Humbrol 101 mid green but finding an equivalent is proving difficult. I've tried using Vallejo camo green but think it may be too light.

Re: Toby's Heller MD 450 Ouragan
Started decalling but Carpena decals are really thick and no matter how much Microsol I use they just won't soften so going to have to paint the markings on the drop tanks. This should be fun ........not.
You can see the red arrows on the sheet that were supposed to go on the nose of the drop tanks but I'll think I'll see my 100th birthday before they become pliable enough to go on

Re: Toby's Heller MD 450 Ouragan
As the decals are so thick and won't mould I had to make some masks to make the arrows on the wing tanks. This was not I repeat was not a labour of love. It was purgatory

Well the painting on the wings tanks went ok sadly though painting the rear tail colours resulted in the blue decals lifting. Hey ho. Two steps forward one step back.

Managed to save the tail decals by using some from another kit.
