Cool. Love that film. I first saw it on a school camp back in the mid 70's. With the title of Silent Running my mate and I thought it would be a war film about submarines :)

I agree Silent Running was a brilliant Film, the submarine film would have been I think "Run Silent, Run Deep"

For those still teetering on the brink, this has just been released in 1/48 and would probably upsize nicely to 1/35 if enlarged it by 137%

Thank you, downloaded - I just happen to have a completed 6in howitzer that I could work into that and save purchasing a resin kit of the gun carrier I don't really want. I did note the guy also has a Short 184 - that I'll probably save for my resin kit thereof.

Update: my office supply store has 11x17 65lb so I'll be up there tomorrow with the pdf to be blown up to 1/35th. I have to say the resin kit might be a tad less complex than this

And, I have the gun carrier printed in 1/35. I am going to hold off starting it until I see how my schedule goes. Most of next week is lost already.

Thank you, although I'm not encouraged by "... this has to be one of his most complex models ..."

I've only built his St Chamond but that was in 1/72 and even with my fingers that wasn't too bad...hopefully the upsize to 1/35 will make the build a tad less challenging....

Now would be the perfect time to give it a try. There are so many kits you could try for free so it would cost you nothing but the effort. Not to mention all the support you could ever hope for here with all of us. If you look on youtube you can find some videos that will help give you an idea how easy it is. I say give it a go.

Fiddlers Green has a very large selection of fairly simple models. If you create an account with them, you can choose three paper models to download for free. They are great starter models and will only cost you the ink and paper to print them out. Start with something simple as a confidence builder and to pick up some of the techniques than maybe try something a little more complex. One reason that a lot of people struggle with paper models is that they try something too complex for their first crack at it...that's not much diiferent from plastic modelling really so start small and build from there...we double triple backflip dare you...
