Last night i added the matt black paint and the green insides, which needs another coat. I'm going to add it tonight as well as make the nose cone gloss black and add the silver touches to the tail and inlets.

I have to say that after a year of using enamels and getting used to the wait times acrylics are a revelation! It's crazy how quick it drys.

That looks very good. We're both using the same paint but yours seems darker to mine. Must be the lighting.

Quite likely. I used a light grey primer. I do have the Hataka ADC grey so might give that a go and see how it compares.

I use Halfords plastic primer which is a darkish grey. TBH i think your colour is pretty much perfect...

It was the Halford's one that i used. Just applied a coat of the Hataka and its identical to Xtracrylix. However it needs a good shake and some thinning so not quite as airbrush ready and tested as they claim.

If i was you i would stick with what you have, it looked the perfect colour to me. So we used the same primer and paint.... then why is mine so much darker?

Must be the lighting. I can't see any other explanation. It's had three coats of the stuff.

Once the primer was covered it made little difference tbh

After spending AGES painting all the little bits and bobs that needs adding on i've finally got the undercarriage and weapon racks attached!



Only need to finish off the undercarriage doors and missile bay doors and the thing is ready have a couple of coats of pledge. I should be putting on the decals this weekend which will give me a week to play with a wash. I've never got a model so close to finishing so quickly!
