Careful, "permanent" markers like to run if painted/coated over ....

Excellent progress Andrew. I thoroughly approve of the use of marker pens

Mast supports added and I actually glued the stand together too.
I'm teaching tonight, so there will be priming tomorrow morning!

Re: Andrew's Minor Victory
Masts have had a coat of primer and yellow on them.
In the meantime I made a raspberry compote (raspberries, sugar, a little balsamic vinegar). It turns out that the plastic punnets for the berries are excellent crash moulding material
So I crash moulded a variety of ship's boats using various flat bladed screwdrivers as the mould.
Hopefully, when cut out carefully and painted, they will have the right shape.

And it's nice that you had some raspberries for free when you bought your material

Re: Andrew's Minor Victory
Meanwhile the sails, having been painted with VA White-Grey (which is pale cream, just to be utterly confusing!) are then weathered with a sepia wash.
You can see a single sail without the wash on the right of the photo. The masts are yellow and need details picking out in black.

Re: Andrew's Minor Victory
Sails colors are very effective.
You could have just painted the hull interior and the inside of the gunports red, rather than going to the trouble to stain them raspberry ...

Re: Andrew's Minor Victory
The masts are now in place and some of the ratlines installed.
This takes as much concentration as rigging biplanes, so I'm leaving the rest for another session!
