The parts are soaking in luke warm soapy water as I type this. Pre-painting will begin tomorrow.

Nice start! I have this kit too. Found it second hand and unbuilt for ten dollars. Not sure what to do with it yet though.

The interior has been assembled, looking through the windows of other c-47 models I have built there isn't much to see through the windows so this has been kept simple.

Here the fuselage has been glued together and is strapped up to dry, the wing halves and tailplanes have also been assembled and one is shown after having its elevator separated, reshaped and glued in the down position.

Nice work so far. I know what you mean about interiors not being that visible. I was well chuffed with my Rapide(even though it had no antimacassars) but when it was all glued up I could barely see a thing.

Good start, David.

How would you compare this older kit with the new mould?

It really didn't seem worth the effort of embellishing the interior Toby.
Can't really say Paul as I haven't built the new kit yet.

A strip of balsawood has been cyano'd in place as a brace to hold the lower fuselage straight at the trailing edge.

The wings have been glued in place and taped up to dry and so ends my bench time for this weekend.

It isn't a difficult kit and does build up very well, just working on the second tailplane and when both are finished they too can be assembled to the airframe.
