Great stuff Tom. That former E-Boat has really captured my interest - are you using photos of actual vessels as inspiration for the deck fittings and equipment or is it totally from the imagination?
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

It's about 50/50 Shaun. Really the hull is about 4 times too small for the type of vessel I'm trying to portray so pictures of the real things can only give me the general layout. A Matchbox Flower class corvette would have been a more accurate starting point (it's a modified merchant design after all) but not having one to hand and not being in a position to buy one either meant working with the largest hull I had in stock.
I've still got a lot of bits to add to her (railings and ventilators plus the tarpaulin covers for the aft hold) but hopefully she'll be a talking point - even if it's just people asking what the heck it is!
Regards
Tom

Well, I for one think it's inspired and I'm sure it will indeed be a talking point. Excellent

Yeah, I'm sure it would have been if there was any room left for a dock but I've just finished measuring and...ShaunW wrote:Well, I for one think it's inspired and I'm sure it will indeed be a talking point.
Just kiddin'
What I meant to say was Tom that the boards will sit about an inch above the table, and therefore the "water" surface, so bear that in mind when you hack the bottom off of the boat (if that's what you intend to do). You can just about see the end (and therefore the height) of support beams in this picture - and then of course don't forget the thickness of the MDF boards as well (6mm). Really looking forward to seeing this one come together Tom!

Nice work TOm I love the little Pug.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

A great trio Tom and I agree, that little Pug has some serious charm to it. I'll amend your build list accordingly.

Re: Tom's now leaving the station (finally!)
Well something a little rare arrived today:
Just needs a simple rebuild - all the parts are there except the front buffer beam which shouldn't be too difficult to scratchbuild:
Can anyone recommend a Humbrol match for the right Green colour?
Regards
Tom

Re: Tom's now leaving the station (finally!)
Humbrol 3 Brunswick Green = GWR Loco Green, was I believe introduced for painting the Evening Star, City of Truro etc., but a closer match to BR Loco Green (from the rail modellers forum) is GWR 1928 Green - this is a mixture of - 20 parts of Humbrol No 2 Emerald + 13 parts of No 150 Matt Forest Green + 7 parts of No 33 Matt Black + 5 parts of No 34 Matt White. covered by satin varnish.
If this is for Telford, then I'll let you choose Tom, but if not, then you can wait and get proper BR Loco Green in the Precision Paints range at the show. I need to get some more Prototype Deltic Blue while I think about it...
Cheers
Al.

TT3 scale, that is very interesting Tom. If this is definitely a goer for Telford, I will add it to your list.
