Thanks for the heads up - ebay is loading in another tab as I typeAndrewR wrote:It's worth looking on eBay, as Tokyo Hobby sometimes have good deals on.SBO wrote:Oh my word that 1/72 scale looks about the same size as the real thing! And by real, I'm sure you know what I mean
I have seen these Aoshima kits on Amazon and added Thunderbird 1 to my wish list, so I'm really keen to see how this goes together and am loving yours so far. I am pretty sure that no modelling cave is complete without at least one Thunderbird sat on the shelf. You know, just in case anything goes wrong and needs rescuing at any point. Given that in one episode Allan managed to find a solitary astronaut floating about in space, I'm fairly sure that he would have at least an even chance of finding a bit of photo-etch that has pinged off as an offering to the carpet monster
They have the TB-1 kit on at US$20/£14 at the moment.

Re: Calling International Rescue
Excellent subject matter, like yourself I grew up with shows such as Thunderbirds, this is a very worthy build I recall being the proud owner of several Thunderbirds toys, including a large T-2, which came with a Mole in the pod, T-1, T-3 and T-4. Alas, none of them ultimately survived their forays into my rescue missions
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Checking the seams on TB-2 using duck egg green.
Quite a lot of work to do on that. I tested out my colour match of the green on the underside of the pod.
This is Vallejo Model Colour Flat Green, sprayed over Panzergrau primer. I'm pleased with the look.

Re: Calling International Rescue
Looking fun and thanks for the measurements.
Think I might go for the Container Dock set which is the same scale.
Built the 1/144th T1 for a US review. Pretty decent kit and would love to do the others in the same scale or even 72nd but need a regular injection kit so not holding my breath.

I got the Pod dock decals in my kit too, they just seem to have bundled all the 1/350 TB decals together.philp wrote:Looking fun and thanks for the measurements.

I sprayed the window frame area, with masking on the inside.
Then I can fit the nose, and mask on the outside. This to to avoid using the kit transparency part, which is a bit thick. Hopefully Glue'n'glaze will do the trick.

It's reminding me of being a boy and guessing which pod would be used as they scrolled along in the hangar!!! Looking great. That green almost looks like Vallejo made it for the purpose!

Pod 4 had Thunderbird 4 in it, and that's the only one I could remember!SBO wrote:It's reminding me of being a boy and guessing which pod would be used as they scrolled along in the hangar!!! Looking great. That green almost looks like Vallejo made it for the purpose!
And yes, the Vallejo Flat Green does look pretty good.

Coming along very nicely indeed. Although I can't tell 100% from here, I would say that Glue'n'Glaze should sort out the flight deck windows for you, certainly it's worth a shot before resorting to overly thick OOB glazing.
