Martin's Zerstorer Pfeil *** finished! ***

A simple GB, convert one thing to another - any subject, any scale, any era, any method, but ending up with a different variant, than what the bits provide for in the box.
GB runs 16th April to 29th May and your host is Martin R.

Making slow but steady progress:

Since the photo was taken, some more has been done. Hopefully, I should have the fuse closed up "soon".

A bit more progress: base for upper fairing on and drying. Once dry that'll be sanded back to shape and used as a framework for Milliput.

Image

I have also started boxing in the wheel wells. Hardly prototypical but it'll stop the "see into the wings" effect.

Image

I have also finished off the rather sparse rescribing I've done. Here are the wing uppers. Again, hardly prototypical; I've just followed FROG's original lines.

Image

Still lots to do, but its probably about time I checked the spares box to see if I've got any 30mm cannon fairings. More soon.

You're really giving this a serious makeover as well as a conversion. Nice.

Thanks, Andrew. I have now sanded down the dorsal framework and filled it with Milliput.

Next step is to add some detail to the wheel well roofs.

Indeed. Much pfeiling::-).

I have roughly sanded down the new flat back, but it'll need another round of pfeiling as there are some low spots.

I've got some work to do tonight but, if I do get some modelling done, I'll be working on the wheel well roofs.

Another round of spot filling of low spots, now sanded back; wheel well roofs completed, attached and wing halves joined.

Pics tonight.

Pics as promised. New upper side profile:

And mainwheel wells with spurious, but hopefully plausible roof detail:

Tomorrow some more sanding, some light scribing on the fuselage, and I'll join the wings. Next jobs: cannon fairings and rescribing engine cowling flaps.

This 'string' of puns can get worse if you would like.
