General Rocket builds a Porsche

A simple GB, convert one thing to another - any subject, any scale, any era, any method, but ending up with a different variant, than what the bits provide for in the box.
GB runs 16th April to 29th May and your host is Martin R.

IIRC the 'Tigers' in Kellys heroes were made from old T-34s. will have to check that.

Looking the biz, G.R.

Now with decals. The decals are taken from the Airfix kit, and represent an early Tiger.

A quick trawl of the spares box found some cables for the sides.
Image
The cables turned out to be too long, so I hunted unsuccessfully through the spares box for more cables. Eventually even I caught on to the fact that I could shorten the cables that I had. So that is what I did.
Image
I did find a load of tools too mount on the Tiger, but test mounts just made it look too busy. So I left them off.

Comments and criticism welcome.

Almost a shock, but suddenly you realise that she is finished.
A few more details from the kit and the spares box, a little light weathering with diluted Revell light earth to break up the lines. And that is it.
Another satisfying build.

And just for comparison, with the winner of the contract.
It's actually late model Tiger, but I don't suppose that matters much.

Ex-Yugoslavian Army T34's, with body work welded on to make it look like a Tiger. Not the most convincing conversion when you look at them, but at least they made an effort. Unlike most such films.
Oddballs Sherman is also ex-Yugoslav army.

I really like that 8-) some of the paper designs for German AFV's were fascinating.

Very good work.
It almost looks overbalanced with the gun and turret that far forward.
