I watched her get strafed in the Falkland sound just outside Ajax Bay and I was involved in transferring fire fighting equipment from Fearless to her, to speed up the offload we actually landed the Seaking on her flight deck and threw out the equipment onto her deck.
I think we need to have a good chinwag at Telford - I'd love to hear some dits! I'll be following your Plymouth build with interest.
Unfortunately I will not be at Telford as it clashes with me marching at the Cenotaph.

Paul if you want to build HMS Plymouth I'm happy to donate the kit, if not I'm happy to attempt a conversion as I'm starting to enjoy these small scale ships.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

At our local meet last night, one of the guys - who built Lusty very well a while back, has the remains of his spare kit which he chewed into for some parts - and whilst most of it is apparently there, a few bits gone AWOL and one hull side is apparently a tad warped.... hence he is willing to let me have it if I want to have a build of it as far as possible oob so as to get the hang of kit before tackling my boxing and the etch etc.

So if that's ok ... I will come out and play...

Revell re-issue of the venerable Matchbox HMS Ariadne in 1/700... a classic (I was delighted to see it reissued recently after years of being scarcer than hens teeth)

I'm struggling with an HMS Hood I started about 5 weeks ago. I'll not get it finished until 18th at the earliest I reckon. I may have time to start the Iron Duke during the time of this GB but I doubt I'd get it finished in time.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

I'm not in the GB but have to express my admiration for all the builds but especially all the terrific photo-etch work you guys are doing. It would drive me nuts.

Just under two weeks to go - how are we all doing, chaps?

I've had a bit of a stop-start time of it, and it'll be a close run thing whether I get mine finished or not - there's a lot of PE left on mine! I'm learning a lot about ship modeling - especially that there are a lot more fiddly bits on a ship than an aircraft! But with fair wind and following sea, I hope to get it finished in time!

I don't think any of mine will be finished on time, as I have been a bit over ambitious, but I'm totally enjoying the change and will defiantly start building more ships.
