Could well be. I have lots of pics of F3s carrying Red Tops and also lots with Firestreaks. What aircraft and squadron are you doing? Maybe we can find a pic of that aircraft?

That's an idea - here's the aircraft I'm building...

I'll do an image search.

Long cable ducts would suggest Redtops would they not?

Image

Mind you - in this one it has Firestreaks...

Image

AND they're dark grey - I thought fire streaks were white.

The long cable ducts were standard on all F3s and later. Doesn't mean it never carried Firestreaks and if you look closely at your top pic - it has Firestreaks too. Here's another

No modelling tonight, we had to take our dog to Huntingdon vets (about eight miles from us), he was clipped by a car and hurt his leg. But the vet said it was worse than that and the short of it is we had to put him to sleep. Everyone is a bit sad tonight to say the least. He is the one in the picture I use for my avatar.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Thank you everyone, it's touching to see so much care and concern. We are muddling along, he was a noisy wotsit when he wanted to be but he was my mate!. I've got some work done today, Lightning nearly done. Even my dad was upset and he referred to Pip (our dog) as 'it' more than once when we first got him. He said he wasn't his dog and so on but by now he enjoyed play fighting with him, so did Pip in fact. Anyway, on we must go.

No worries Marky - all you can do is take one day at a time.

Progressed some more on the F.3 - got the first coat of green on...

I marked up the camo first using water colour pencil.

Then the rest...

Tomorrow I may do another coat of grey and tidy up the mistakes.

Nearly done with the Lightning. However it decided to fall off the sky base as it picked it up, it landed noisily and broke one over wing tank off, both firestreaks and one ventral fin. All back on now except the ventral fin which has vanished. A search may be in order when I find my Anti-carpet monster spray!!.
