I've said before in this thread, it's not one of Matchbox's best. The canopy has 2 ejector marks on the inside and isn't very clear. Also has a few little bubbles in it. Just as well nothing can really be seen in the cockpit. Also the Instrument panel doesn't fit properly without fouling the canopy. Could just be me as I'm a bit cack handed at the moment but I'm not taking all the blame. About the only thing that has gone right so far has been the painting of the wheels.

Well, it looks like a wokka from this end of the internet; I'm sure you'll bash it into shape before too long!

Cheers Iggie.
The canopy is almost masked. I bought a pre cut one that said for the Revell kit. Just my luck , wrong Revell Chinook! Best part of a tenner wasted on aftermarket bits.. I must be going soft in my old age. Anyway,I'll try and get the I.P in later and attach the canopy. Another blast of primer and if the upper join is sorted I may get the black on in these next few days. Must find my fancy scissors for that wavy demarcation. Lots of aerials and hooks to add underneath, with my current hamfisted approach it will be best saving them till last.

Wheels are a start Shane. I'm sure you will fettle it.

Had no end of trouble with the seams on the upper and lower fuselage. In the end I used some yellow hi build automotive filler/primer and flatted back. Appears to have worked. I got the canopy on earlier today, again doesn't fit too well. Another squirt of grey primer tomorrow and maybe get the rotors painted.

Now that is progress. Maybe pics sometime please. :lol:

I'm guessing you would not be recommending this kit if I wanted to build a Chinook?

I wouldn't say not to build it, my heart hasn't really been it so that doesn't help. A bit more care and attention wouldn't have gone amiss. I've not seen any from other manufacturers so can't comment on how they go together.
I got the seams sorted as far as I can, the upper has gone and there is a slight one on the underside. I've had to be careful because any stress caused when sanding could cause them to pop again. Anyway, re-primed with grey and the undersides are now black. Have to mask up the wiggly demarcation now.

Any how a few pics.

I masked up the wavy demarcation after a long search for my craft scissors. I had to cut the tape in sections as I could only make one cut at a time as it curled otherwise. Anyway,it worked and now I've sprayed on the dark sea grey. Will let that harden off and get the old blu tac sausages out tomorrow. Might make the finish yet.

Cheers O.T, the grey is Xtracrylix Dark Sea Grey. I did use Humbrol 27 from a can but it didn't look right so went over it.

I had the same problem with tape becoming unmanagable with scissors, until I had this brainwave: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=15191;
