Re: Lancfan's Historic Beetle
The first steps were to fit the seats to the chassis and then paint it, I then assembled the barrels and the cab, fitting the missing windscreen centre pillar using stretched sprue.
I then painted the interior and the lower half of the cab.

It was a classic case of good advertising over a poor product

To be fair, Red Barrel wasn't so bad, it was when it changed to plain Watney's Red that the trouble started!splash wrote:iggie wrote:Don't take the p**s out of Red Barrel......you'll ruin the flavour!splash wrote:Watneys Red Barrel, now that's a beer that brings back memory's

Re: Lancfan's Historic Beetle
After a lapse the Scarab is back on the bench and is now almost complete.
The cab was then fitted to the Chassis, the ornamental roof barrel was fitted and the rest of the cab was then painted.
Finished in the nick of time ! I have to say that the instructions were awful and the decals were terrible, especially those for the barrels which were slightly too large and printed with a square varnish coat- also the varnish was Yellow ! (in this day and age ?) I will print my own titles for the barrels later and rectify this, but for now this will have to do.
David.

Thanks David, John, Alan, O_T. Despite the shortcomings of the instructions and decals I did enjoy building this model and I plan to make a few others in different liveries later.
