It's time to awaken the beast:

So after a mess up with the Phantom's white paint(AGAIN!!!!!!) I decided to go at a little mojo fixing project and what do you know the Harrier strikes again.
I only used Micro Set(for the first time, haven't used Sol yet but the decal looks painted on already to the naked eye so I might just not bother!

So its been a while since the Telic bird had any work done, I have trimmed down the nose antenna as it looked way too big for my liking, once I find them I'll be adding the other areal that resembles a farmers wind direction indicator :D.

I suppose this counts as my latest finished kit:
Image
Sealed in its shrink wrap from 1987 Airfix Harrier GR.3, 2 spare fuselage halves and a deep IKEA frame.
My Mrs ended up gluing the fuselage halves in as I couldn't get the correct placement for them.
(Yes dear you did all the work) Shhh don't tell Sal haha!

I did quite abit of decalling on ZD408 last night, the decals on the Aircraft are done, I just need to put a layer of klear on and finish the weapons.

After finishing the decals yesterday I pushed on and got a layer of Hannants flat varnish on her:

I'm not going to tell you that I forgot to remask the canopy and had to clean it with tissue and window cleaner!
I'm gonna put a layer of klear onto the canopy to get a better finish as that's worked very well before when I've made this mistake.
Also this is my first experience with Hannants varnish range and after following the directions on the rear of the bottle they went on beautifully!

Last night I finished the Paveway 2's and Paveway 3's and TIALD pod and put them onto their hard points.
I also painted a lot of fine detail onto the aircraft.

Tonight I plan on finishing her.

Thanks lads!

Sorry for not posting much content everyone but quite a lot has been going on lately mainly with my car going back in due to a mess up when our local garage fitted a new clutch, long story short the clutch slipped and fell into the gears and one half of our engine fell out due to them not putting the bolts in the correct places.
And now I'm in trouble at work for not being able to attend for the last 2 days so it's been very fun to say the least!

Anyway I got 5 minutes last night to put a lock of prime onto the sidewinder and mavericks:
Image
I know there's a few fibres on them but I really wasn't willing to risk messing things up so I left them to dry and I'll pick at them tonight.

For my first build of this Shared Build I chose the Old Tool Airfix Harrier GR.7 with Op Telic optional extras that were supplied within the kit.
She went together beautifully and I really enjoyed this build.

So anyway onto the reveal photos:

Thanks buddy!

Question of the day:
I wonder what a USMC GAU-12 Gun/Ammo Pod looks like on an RAF Harrier II?
